Audits and Assessments

Laws, Legislation and Responsibilities

Welcome to our Psychological Safety at Work programs page! In today’s dynamic and diverse workplaces, creating an environment where every team member feels safe to express their thoughts and ideas is crucial for innovation and productivity.

How do we assist organisations in reducing psychosocial risks and hazards?

In recent years, state governments have placed stronger emphasis on the responsibility of organisations to provide safe and supportive workplaces. Beyond traditional health and safety requirements such as protective equipment, working at heights, and handling hazardous materials leaders are now expected to address the psychosocial dimensions of workplace safety.

This includes managing negative behaviours and interactions, preventing excessive workloads, and empowering individuals with a sense of control and agency. Through updated codes of practice and clear regulatory guidance, it is evident that creating a truly safe workplace means safeguarding both physical and psychological wellbeing.

How We Can Help

This is where 1Diversity can help. As specialists in workplace psychology and diversity, equity, and inclusion, we bring deep expertise in people, work, and creating environments that are both safe and productive. Partnering with us means ensuring your workforce is supported to succeed where individuals are engaged, mentally well, and empowered to thrive.

When your organisation faces challenges with psychological health and wellbeing, our role is to identify the underlying causes and provide tailored solutions that not only meet national legal and regulatory requirements but also deliver sustainable, positive change. Our approach reduces organisational risk, saves time and resources, and builds a culture where everyone takes an active role in recognising and managing psychosocial risks and hazards.

Our methodology is aligned with Safe Work Australia’s national psychosocial codes of practice as well as state and territory guidelines, ensuring consistency and compliance across the country. This is delivered through two key phases—Identification and Implementation—providing a structured and practical pathway to safer, healthier, and more inclusive workplaces nationwide.

Identification – Psychosocial Audit and Road Map

Audit Program

We provide both comprehensive organisational audits and targeted reviews of specific teams or business units. Each audit is tailored to your organisation’s needs and may include:

A desktop gap analysis of strategies, policies, practices, and organisational data, benchmarked against legislative requirements and/or recognised best practices.

Conducting or reviewing outcomes from culture, engagement, safety, or psychosocial risk and hazard surveys.

Facilitating focus groups and/or interviews using an appreciative inquiry approach to uncover strengths and opportunities.

Recommendations and Roadmap

Drawing on the data collected, we deliver a comprehensive report that includes practical recommendations and a clear roadmap for action. Our approach highlights organisational strengths while addressing priority psychosocial risks and hazards. We focus on the interplay between job resources, demands, and controls, ensuring strategies are both compliant and effective in creating a safe, healthy, and productive workplace.

Implementation – Creating a positive psychosocial climate and culture
